Rs 330,000

Community strength is greatly enhanced by neighbors knowing their neighbors.  All close knit communities have a central location where friends and families gather for celebrations and events.

The Trou Aux Biches Community Centre's 'Basketball / Vollyball' pitch has fallen into miserable disrepair which has rendered it useless to the surrounding community.  Missing equipment and overgrown foliage make it an eyesore and unusable for sports competition and special events.

The Sugar Industry Labour Welfare Fund has granted permission for volunteers to renovate this valuable space and return it to the surrounding community as an inspirational landmark for sports competition and neighorhood pride that will bring neighbors back together.

Renovations will include replacing the missing backboards and rims, repairing the volleyball posts, painting the court in the colors of the Mauritian flag with regulation lines and marking and replacing the overhead lights with a solar powered system.

Mr. Benoit Harter and Mrs. Vilma Ah-Choon of the Mauritian company SPEX SERVICES LTEE have agreed to supervise all aspects of the work.

Specializing in sports equipment and design they will model the court after the Pamplemousses Youth Centre facility.

All work will be pre-approved by the S.I.L.W.F, General Manager, Mr. Viswadeo Jodhoa and none of the refundable funds will be released until the target goal of Rs. 330,000 is been achieved.

After the completion of this much needed renovation, Concerts, Festivals, Farmer Markets and all levels of sports competition will be organized for men, women, boys and girls to bring the vibrant and diverse Trou Aux Biches community closer together.

Please find it within your means to make any donation large or small.
