Rs 54,500 Raised

Hello friends and family!

As you know, we are raising funds for the Global Rainbow Foundation's (GRF) latest project, the "Holistic Therapy Program" which provides Special Education Needs (SEN) children with yoga, laughter therapy, music and art courses.

(Disclaimer: Please note that the target goal here was required to create the crowdfund.mu page and that we will be able to access the funds even if we do not hit the target. There is absolutely no pressure to donate whatsoever)

Why GRF?

GRF is an NGO created in 2011 with centres all over Mauritius. Their mission is to provide an all-rounded support to the disabled community in Mauritius: from raising awareness, producing and prosthetics for amputees, providing physical, speech and emotional therapy via medical professionals and finally re-integrating their beneficiaries into society via their employability program.

Upon visiting their headquarters in Petit Raffray on January 20th, we felt that this NGO and its team demonstrated amazing empathy, dedication and also efficiency towards the disabled community in Mauritius.

What is the impact of the Holistic Therapy Program?

As of today (20/01/2021), GRF is already working with seven schools in the North for just it's Yoga program and has conducted 4 art therapy workshops in Flacq and Beau-Bassin.

In terms of qualitative impact, they have noticed significant improvement in the students' morale, confidence, self-expression and even mobility.

What will come of my donation?

The purpose of the donation will be to expand the art therapy program to more SEN schools and finance the material and staff cost for the on-going courses. That being said, the donation process can sometimes be frustrating and lacking transparency, especially when it comes to efficiently communicating a donation's impact. This is why Mr Parsuramen (the NGO founder) and I will provide a complete impact report within 6 months of Mom's birthday with the following info:

- Number of beneficiaries added to the program
- Average length of beneficiary commitment
- Qualitative assessment of beneficiaries via profile of a few students
- Number of schools committed to the program etc.

For more information about the program, please check out my interview of Mr Parsuramen by clicking here! Hope you like it!

Love,

Leila, Shama, Lamia and Nirvan
