Publishing of Rising Fall
Since I was a little girl, I have always dreamt of publishing my book.
Ever since I can remember, I was always writing, drawing and making things from things lying around in the house. From bookmarks to pen holders, to custom made birthday cards, I was always creating and expressing myself in my own way.
Writing poems during my teenage years has not only enabled me to express my internal thoughts but has enabled me to discover my love for writing and the importance of exerting thoughts, feelings and emotions that as human beings, we are not always able to express.
It has taken me a while to be able to complete over 200 poems ( still writing when I can/need) and I think it is about time I share them with the world. Encouraged by my precious family, friends and colleagues, I want to make available my first collection of around 30 poems, so that people feel less alone in their emotions., called The Rising Fall
I have found that it is always easier to talk about the happy, the good and the big, that as human beings we find it hard to talk or hear about the sad, depressing and harshness of our reality. But isn't all of that part of our lives? I want people to feel less alone and feel normal to feel sadness after a breakup, to feel repulsed when faced situations imaginable and to feel loved when we get signs of hope from the higher. We are humans and we NEED to share our emotions and feel heard and not alone.
I have, throughout the years, been able to share my poems with people and the response has been very positive. What strikes me the most is that since I have been writing from a young age, I have noticed that the poems talk to several generations, and that makes me thrive harder to get this book out!
Even though I have been in the marketing sector for over 10 years now, and my negotiation skills are pretty good, I have contacted several publishing houses, and they always seem to make your life harder than it already is. I understand that costs are high, but I strongly believe that art and poetry should be more accessible and should get more help from institutions. Thus, I have decided to self-publish this collection of poems in several volumes.
The rising Fall volume 1, will be a collection of 30 poems and, I am counting on your precious donations to be able to do that.
Here is a poem that I would like to share with you:
Feeling trapped in a life that isn't yours,
feeling angry by hurts, bloodshed and swords,
that feeling that eats you up every time you retrospect
that feeling that shouldn't be there because you should be free to express and earn respect.
That anger that fills your lungs, causing you to suffocate,
That sensation of guilt that shouldn't be here, that agony, that hate
The hatred your feel because no one seems to understand,
And here again, you are alone, here alone you stand.
Never should anyone feel destroyed by not being understood,
Never should anyone feel agonizing pain from being misunderstood.
One day, your thought will be heard,
Until that day, you got to keep strong, stay quiet and travel in your own expression, fly in your mind, free like a bird.
