Rotary End Polio Now
The Rotary Clubs, Rotaract and Interact Clubs in Mauritius joined forces to celebrate the International Polio Day on Saturday 24 October 2020. More than 1.2 million Rotary members have donated their time and money to eradicate polio, and every year, hundreds of members work with health workers to vaccinate children in countries affected by polio. In Mauritius, their campaign received support from 104 individuals and collected over Rs.130,000.

De la precarité à la sécurité
This project was developed by an architecture student and 2 architects. The original idea was to help one married couple improve their small iron sheet house built on a family plot located in a vulnerable neighborhood in Black River. The initial project therefore evolved rapidly to no longer only help one but five families living on this plot. The social housing project was developed in collaboration with the inhabitants to build houses that will protect them from the rain and cyclones and that have been designed by architects considering the existing vernacular dwellings, their lifestyle and the conditions linked to a tropical climate on the western coast of the island.

Secours Alimentaire pour les Familles de Mahebourg
In order to help the families of Mahebourg severely affected by the Covid-19 crisis and the Oil Spill, a group of citizens called Sud Espoir located on the East coast, joined forces to raise funds and buy food packs containing products of first necessity to these families. With the help of people involved in social work in Mahebourg, they were able to identify the families in need and their group age to provide them with appropriate foodpacks. Over Rs.450,000 were collected for this project.
