Lord Krishna allows suffering in his devotee’s lives, so that fear of suffering will motivate them to “study the nature of this miserable world” and create a longing in them to get freed from this cycle of births and deaths, and finally not have any regrets about wasting this human form.
For a true devotee, sufferings are blessings in disguise. Although he may not be aware of it always, Lord is using suffering to protect him.
