Description

Art for a cause (Mauritius) founded in 2019 by Kris Ankamah and later joined by Jai Prayag, is a community-based artistic platform that supports social projects through art. Our main focuses are the Disability community and Mental health sector. Our past initiative in 2019 have helped to develop adaptive educational materials for children with intellectual disability to facilitate their education.

Our agenda for 2020 is to create an awareness campaign to end stigma on mental health in Mauritius and in the Southern African region. Raising awareness on mental health can help save lives by delivering the right information to the community.

Our project is dedicated for people who are suffering in silence and who feel alone due to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder amongst other mental health illnesses.

Our campaign consist of building a mental health network in Mauritius and in Southern Africa, We are developing and designing brochures which contains crucial informations on how to take care of our mental health and where to find help if needed for suicide prevention, which will be distributed freely within our community.

The campaign will also be made on social media, Marketing and boosting the campaign online will help to reach more people.
